Lovely ones,
Here’s a list of things to do when you are in the Blue Mountains. All of these are open/accessible all year-round.
Bush Walking
So many walks, so little time. Ranging in exertion levels from “Well, that was easy” to “I am NEVER doing that again!”.

Mayfield Garden
Located in Oberon, so further up the Mountains from us, is this beautiful garden. Privately owned and a labour of love. They have an onsite cafe and you can bring your dog (on a lead). Plus, they have a maze. I’m a sucker for a good maze!
Blue Mountains Cultural Centre
Part gallery, part centre, part museum. They also run regular classes and there’s a cafe for a quick coffee. The museum’s permanent collection includes information about the flora and fauna of the Blue Mountains. Located in the main street of Katoomba.

Everglades
If Art Deco houses and rock walls are your thing (and why wouldn’t they be!?) then Everglades is for you! Beautiful house and garden located in Leura. Open Thurs – Monday so…….don’t turn up on a Tuesday.

Zig Zag Railway
Great fun and a super day out. There’s parking, a small cafe that does good coffee and 2 BBQs and picnic tables if you want to BYO some lunch etc
Lost Bear Gallery
I love Lost Bear. There’s always something great on exhibit. Contemporary art with glass and ceramics also.
Scenic World
Good day out, albeit a bit “toursity”. Thrill seekers will love the Scenic Railway and the Scenic Skyway and the walk along the valley floor is stunning. They quite often run additional experiences – night/laser shows, Dinosaur interactive events etc. In Katoomba.
Jenolan Caves
The largest network of caves in Australia. 5 caves in total to explore via guided tours. 4 of the 5 caves are open to all ages. Named Binoomea by the local Aboriginal population, which loosely translates into “dark places.” Check the opening hours before you go – caves are open (or not) based on weather/rain.
Dryridge Estate
Great winery, cellar door and stupendous views! Located in the Megalong Valley – about 20 minutes from Blackheath. You can get a lovely cheese plate/ploughman’s lunch, have a wine tasting and buy a bottle (or two) to take home.
