The Cooking Instructor

When you go along to any class it’s always good to know a little bit about who will be running the show…. So, I am a cookbook author, a recipe developer, private cook and caterer who has been running cooking classes and workshops throughout Sydney for over 10 years, both on Sydney’s Lower North Shore and also in the Blue Mountains. 2018 will be the school’s 5th year of operation and my 15th year of teaching cooking. Yikes! 🙂

I am a dedicated foodie with qualifications in cooking and hospitality. I have a real passion for producing food which is not only delicious to eat but also easy to make at home.  The recipes are easy to follow and unpretentious, yet the resulting dishes are delicious and inspired.

The workshops have been a success over the years because I am constantly innovating with new ideas and concepts, as well as providing insight into traditional cooking methods and classic techniques. My experience as a cooking instructor and writer/developer of recipes has taught me which recipes work well and what food types people enjoy.

Students are always discovering something new, as I share my own insights and experiences and I create a real environment of exchange, learning, and fun as the cooking takes place.

About The Classes

Classes are run in Wentworth Falls in the Blue  Mountains (approx 90 mins from Sydney). They are a great way to spend a day getting away from it all, meeting new people and sharing the experience of creating a meal together.

The kitchen is purpose-built for cooking demonstrations but if you would like some hands-on involvement, then we offer that, too! I teach attendees about cooking techniques, ingredients and provide recipe hints and tips along the way. At all of the classes, we sit down and enjoy the dishes we have made, so people never walk away hungry!

 

 

About The Location

The classes are held in a beautiful Wentworth Falls homestead which is set on an acre of gardens and orchard. Originally built as a guest-house retreat in the 1920s, the house has all the splendour of its orginal era, combined with the comfort of modern times.

The demonstration kitchen is the perfect setting for the relaxed observation of a cooking class, but if you feel like day-dreaming, just glance out the window to see our sweeping pines and blossoming fruit trees. Oh the delight!
